Ok, let's get you guys back up to date. We finished up the first semester of Challenge 1, and I have been enjoying my break! We went down to Orlando for Thanksgiving, and hung out with our cousins riding four-wheelers, and playing games. We made it home, and have been preparing Romans 6, 7, and 8 for our annual Bible quiz this New Years. I must say, that I haven't been studying them as much as I should be...( I've been to busy sitting around the house bored. You know how it is!) We had a great Christmas with the fam! Hanging out with cousins is always fun!! We are leaving for Orlando Thursday, and I am a little nervous about the ride there, because Alayna has been carsick a lot lately. Hopefully we will make it there, without too many incidents! Well, that about sums it all up!

Debate
On Monday, my Challenge 1 class had our first debate. It was boys vs girls. The boys were the negative team, and we were the affirmative team. The topic was prayer in school. In case you aren't familiar with debates, I'll give you the run-over. The affirmative team (us) starts out the debate with a 1AC. (This was my job. You just kind of put your case out there and tell the judge and audience why you should win. It has to be exactly eight minutes long.) Then the negative gets up and does the 1NC. Basically the same thing as a 1AC, but negative. Then there are the 2AC and 2NC. We then take turns with the rebuttals and then we are done. After each speech, the speaker gets cross-examined. The whole debate usually lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Well guess who won!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The boys. :'(
Just kidding!!!!!! We did! The affirmative team pulled away with it in the end. It was kinda stressful, but it was a good experience. I'm not necessarily looking forward to the next one, but that's a ways away!

Giveaway!
I am going to try something new. At the end of this post, I will have a riddle. Whoever comments the correct answer to the riddle first, will be the proud owner of this fine wood-burning designed and constructed by yours truly. If nobody guesses correctly, I will then ask an easy question in the comments. Whoever is the first to answer will win! Good luck!!
Paul's height is six feet, he's an assistant at a butcher's shop, and wears size 9 shoes. What does he weigh?

Fall Break
This week I'm on fall break!!!! I'm soooo happy! Even though I enjoy community day in Challenge 1, I don't really love the school part of it...Here is what I have to go through every day: (I'm not even going to mention debate. Aghhhhhh!! It's horrible!... Sorry, I had to get that out.) I'm not doing Latin this year, which I am really happy about. We are doing Algebra 1 this year which is pretty easy so far, but I know it will get harder later on. Shakespeare is by far my favorite subject, because we have literally no homework! We are going through an American Government book. We have to annotate and summarize different documents in our own words. It's not too hard, but it takes time. Science is confusing at times, but overall is pretty fun. We get to do experiments on Mondays! Last but not least we have American Literature. We read a large amount of random books, and make ANI Charts, outlines, and papers on them. It can be boring at times, but is an okay subject. On Mondays we start with Latin, but the only student participating in that is Thomas. Then we knock out math and science ( Caleb is notorious for really complicating things in those subjects!). We then head to Shakespeare and act out "The Taming of the Shrew". It can be very entertaining to listen to Mitchell during this time with his various accents...:-) We break for lunch, and then head back to class to endure another three hours of torture. We still have Lit, government, and debate. Well, that about wraps up my school life!

Dolls for Sale
As some of you know, I used to collect porcelain dolls. I decided to sell them, and save up money for new room decor. I had about fifteen dolls in total ( pretty impressive right?). I sold all but three. Here are the ones I have left:
The first two are 3$ each, and the third is 5$. If you know anybody who might want one please let me know!

Youth Activity
My youth group is having the next activity on October 1st. We are going to the Fun Park in Albany. It is REALLY fun!! It has laser tag, put-put golf, go-carts, bumper boats, and an arcade! Another thing we are doing that night is a crazy hat contest. Everyone can either make or buy a hat, and whoever's is the craziest wins! The winner doesn't have to pay for anything that night... but there is a catch: if you win, you have to wear your hat the entire time! Here is a link to the hat I am going to make: http://pin.it/s8LP1LF

I'm Sick
I woke up Thursday morning with a temperature of 101.4. It only got worse, throughout the day, so mom took me to the doctors office. The nurse took three tests, to see if I had strep throat, flu, or mono. Thankfully it was not mono. It's strep throat. I'm not saying I like strep throat, but I'm glad I have that instead of the other two, because they can give antibiotics for strep, but nothing for flu or mono. I'm starting to feel better already!
